During the UNESCO International Poetry Day, Maltese poet based in Paris, Elizabeth Grech participated in the poetry reading event "Giornata Internazionale della Poesia 2019" at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in the heart of Rome on 21 March 2019

During the event, eleven authors from other European Countries read their own works. Elizabeth read out her poems “Baħar”, “Leħnek”, “Jien u int”, “Mera”, “Borra” and “Suwed għajnejk”.

Participation was made possible thanks to the Embassy of Malta in Rome, the MFTP Cultural Diplomacy Fund  and Arts Council Malta, members of EUNIC (the European Union National Institutes of Culture) - Europe’s network of national cultural institutes.

EUNIC has 36 members from all 28 EU member states, and offices in over 150 countries. EUNIC aims to encourage greater understanding and awareness of the diverse European cultures and its mission is to build cultural relationships between people worldwide.
