Join us for an engaging discussion between two multidisciplinary artistic practitioners with extensive backgrounds in exploring the human psyche through creative means, as they delve into self-care and their work through their personal experiences.

During this open conversation, the speakers will be  exploring the notion of self-care through themes such balancing between personal needs and demands from one's artistic practice, the shifting nature of care for the self and its relation to one's artistic community as well as the art of listening to your inner voice in tandem with your surrounding environment as part of one's artistic and human self-development. What methods and strategies can be adopted to enhance one's physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing while engaging in forms of creativity as an artist?

Speakers:

Ruth Borg

Ruth Borg (1994, Malta) is a movement artist based in Amsterdam. She works works mainly in theatre, performance and film.

In these mediums she finds herself in various shapes as maker, performer, writer, singer, advisor and facilitator. Her main fascination as a creator is the interplay between the domestic and the body and everything that lies underexposed or suppressed there. So you might find her creating and performing in a kitchen, a shower, a toilet or in some mock-up living room. Her work is often characterized by strong images and a piercing presence that often paves way to a trembling physicality.

Ruth has performed locally and internationally and is always curious to new artistic landscapes.

In 2015 she graduated with a B.A (Hons) in Theatre Studies from the University of Malta and in July of this year she graduated with a B.A in Mime from the University of Arts in Amsterdam. Photo by Lisa Attard.
