Between the Seas is pleased to invite submissions from MENA-based choreographers for a fall residency in Monemvasia, Southern Greece.

Thanks to a grant from the Greek Ministry of Culture supporting choreographic research, Between the Seas invites MENA-based choreographers currently developing work, to join the residency program this fall.

Located in the gorgeous medieval town of Monemvasia, in Southern Greece, the BTS Residency offers rehearsal space and accommodation to mediterranean performing artists to develop new work. The goal is to promote Monemvasia and its unique landscape as a mediterranean hub for intercultural exchanges, engage with the local community and invite mediterranean artists to work, interact and get inspired by the history and beauty of the place.

Between the Seas will cover resident artists' accommodation, transfers between Athens and Monemvasia and per diems. Residency dates are flexible between Oct-Nov 2021. Residency duration can be between 7-10 days

Interested artists may contact the team on betweentheseasfestival@gmail.com and are asked to apply by end of August 2021.

To apply, artists should send a description of the work they want to develop during the residency and samples of previous works. Resident artists will be invited to offer a workshop and/or open performance for the local community at the end of the residency.
